Seld Coding Practice

This practice is for you do go into that energetic place of being with one of your coping styles - with your energetic pattern from childhood that’s repeating itself throughout your life.

Here’s how to do it:

  • Journal a few minutes about what’s going on in your life in the most raw, unfiltered and childish way.

  • Then cross out all the specific words (me, him, my house, money, my work, my child etc.)

  • Then circle to most charged emotional words and sayings - the ones that feel the most childish, raw and triggering (e.g. alarming, annoying, slammed the door, rejected, belittled, extremely chaotic, alone, hungry for touch). Go for words that has to do with what YOU were experiencing, instead of what someone else in your story was experiencing.

  • Pick THE most charged word or a few words and take it/them into this meditation. If you’re new to this I would start with one word.

  • Sit with the energy of the word/words one at a time and just BE lovingly present with the intensity of the word until the intensity is reduced. If thoughts, emotions and somatic sensations come up, feel that you’re able to BE with them without going into story around them, and gently shift your focus back to the energetic frequency of the word you’re working with.

  • As the intensity around the word wears off there’s often a lightness, brightness, softness, ease and flow coming into the field energetically. Sit with that for as looong as feels good to you. Really breathe into this new energetic reality that you’re in.
